While growing up in Alaska, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to be when I grew up, but I knew I wanted to make a difference in some way. And like many people, it took a journey to figure out what that meant.
I moved to Chicago for college and then began a career that was full of reinventions – from corporate public relations in Chicago, to nonprofits and philanthropy in Seattle, to entrepreneurship and leadership consulting nationally.
While my career hasn’t been conventional, there’s been a consistent theme: I’m good at helping people navigate change and it’s what clients value most about my work with them: I help them find clarity in the chaos and create what matters most to them.
Our world today is rapidly changing with significant challenges AND there are opportunities to create something better if we see the reality in front of us and the future possibilities. But we can’t do that on our own – we see and perform better when we seek out different perspectives.
Because I’ve worked and consulted in so many industries and sectors, I can see common patterns and creative connections. These provide me with a unique approach to leadership coaching, team development training and organizational change consulting. As one client has said, “it’s magic.”
I’ve often said that working with Jennifer results in magic. She has a real talent for bringing together all the pieces and perspectives of a complex challenge and then helping us craft a path forward. We’re always amazed by the results.
Jen was a wonderful moderator for our panel of female founders. Not only was she engaging and personable, but her contributions to the conversation were incredibly valuable and insightful.”
Jen is an exceptional facilitator and coach. She thinks strategically about goals and outcomes, understands both individual and group process, and fully engages participants in their learning. She is inclusive, incisive and generative and is one of the best consultants and trainers I have worked with. I highly recommend her.
Jen Martin conducted an extensive culture audit of Global Greengrants Fund, facilitated an outstanding staff retreat following it, and continued coaching me as we moved our culture work forward. Jen is terrific.
Jennifer was a speaker at our national event and was a big hit. She was engaging and inspired the group about what was possible for us. It was a great mix of presenting information and interacting with one another - I highly recommend her as a speaker.
Not only did Jennifer help me take an amorphous idea and make it real, she brought a creativity and energy to the challenge that resulted in an extraordinarily successful event. Her ability to tailor her expertise to our needs was of tremendous value; our managers are, quite simply, better at their jobs because of Jennifer.
Jennifer is a remarkable coach. She respected me with the truth and she challenged me with the truth. This built trust and the kind of safety needed to take risks. After our sessions, I feel empowered to tackle any new situation at work.
Jen has worked with us on organizational culture and team development for a couple of years. She is one of the most insightful, thoughtful, compassionate, and smart consultants I’ve ever worked with, and she is a very lovely human being too!
I worked with Jen to create a leadership program focused on change management. Jen was wonderful to work with. Her expertise in change management, organizational development and coaching was an asset we tapped into again and again. I can’t wait to work with her again!
Jen facilitated our annual retreat and training for our full team and it was powerful. We gained new tools and her approach and style created the space for us to all learn from one another. It was one of the best professional development retreats we’ve done.
Jen’s skillful facilitation helped forge new bonds and bring a strong sense of community among the members of our newly formed work team…Jen did an outstanding job organizing, focusing, educating and inspiring us. It was an amazing day!
Jennifer is one of the most gracious, thoughtful, strategic and organized facilitators and leaders I’ve met…she is consistently the highest rated facilitator and is most valued for her candor, intelligence and humor.
I’ve worked with Jennifer for many years and have never come across someone as talented…what I admire about Jennifer is she is inspired to make others successful. She is an amazing asset and comes with my highest regard.
